§ 12-160. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this article, the following definitions shall apply:

    Discriminatory housing practice: Any act which is described under sections 12-169—12-171 of this article.

    Dwelling: Any improved property, including a mobile home unit, which is used or occupied, or is intended, arranged or designed to be used or occupied as a home or residence.

    Family: Includes a single individual.

    Person: One or more individuals, corporations, partnerships, associations, labor organizations, legal representatives, mutual companies, joint-stock companies, trusts, unincorporated organizations, trustees, trustees in bankruptcy and receivers.

    To rent: Includes to lease, to sub-lease, to let and otherwise to grant for a consideration the right to occupy premises not owned by the occupant.
